The fate of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 8 remains up in the air

Release Date of #RHNJ S8: To be announced

Following a two-year hiatus that had fans of the show raring for more, the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey premiered this July on Bravo. The major theme of this season will focus on Teresa Giudice’s return to normalcy following an 11-month prison sentence, as she attempts to settle back into life as a mother and wife, as well as work to repair relationships with some of her old friends.

The other major theme regarding this seventh season has been a substantial shakeup in the lineup of housewives. Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are the only two housewives to return from season 6, following the departures of Amber Marchese and twins Nicole and Teresa, as well as Dina Manzo no longer being able to participate after moving to California. Taking their places are newcomers Siggy Flicker and Dolores Catania, as well as Jacqueline Laurita, returning after leaving following the fifth season. How have you enjoyed the new and familiar faces on #RealHousewivesNewJersey so far?

Along with Giudice’s sometimes strained attempts to settle back into her old life, some of the major details from the season so far include Jacqueline’s struggles with her son, Melissa’s attempts to open her own boutique against her husband’s wishes, and Dolores’s focusing on her own gym business, not without its own set of issues.

The Real Housewives brand is certainly a major one for the Bravo Network, and the New Jersey version of it is one of the most successful so far. It has already led to two spin-off shows, Manzo’d With Children and Teresa Checks In. While many fans can’t get enough of the drama, making it truly addictive TV, some are not so happy, feeling that it puts forth a negative, stereotypical portrayal of people from New Jersey. Do you find that this is stereotypical, or simply the portrayal of one small group of people?

While the debates about this show may never fully settle down, chances of renewal are certainly very high. Teresa Giudice’s legal troubles have both placed an increased spotlight on the show and created a whole bunch of new drama and material for the cast to go off on, and the addition of two new Housewives will keep the mix fresh as always.┬áThis has been reflected in the strong ratings for the show since its return. Whether or not the show will have another hiatus or not isn’t clear, but chances

are that the show will appear again in some capacity.
