Marvel's Avengers Assemble is an American animated series that premiered on Disney XD in 2013 to build on the success of the live action movie of the same name that was released the previous year. It also replaces the previous Avengers animation – 'The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes'. The animated series is the creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby with Dan Buckley, Jeph Loeb and Joe Quesada serving as executive producers. The series is one of several in the Disney XD 'Marvel Block' and it shares continuity and cast with several other Marvel series.
The series follows some of the most powerful Marvel superheroes as they team up to fight evil. They live together under one roof which means that they often have to work just as hard to put aside their personal differences and resolve power struggles within the group as they do actually fighting evil. Red Skull and M.O.D.O.K. Are frequent enemies that The Avengers have to contend with on a regular basis. Falcon serves as the main eyes and ears of the viewer as the newest Avenger joining the team of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Thor.
Critics have no exactly been kind to the series, saying that it is a dumbed down and repetitive version of its predecessors, but fans have given it a much warmer reception which is what matters at the end of the day. The series has a 7.1 out of 10 rating on IMDB and it pulls in consistently good reasons not only from children, but from adult superhero fans as well.
If you are already a fan of other animated Marvel offerings such as 'Ultimate Spider-Man', 'Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.', 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Wolverine and the X-Men' then you are probably going to enjoy watching 'Marvel's Avengers Assemble' as well.
