William Fichtner has officially been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming season 4 of Mom. This is great news for fans of the show who loved the relationship between Bonnie and Adam, which at season 3’s end looked like it could be in jeopardy when he left for a new job. It’s an interesting move, as no one is quite sure whether his new job was written into the storyline so that they could decide whether or not to bring him back.
William Fichtner is an in demand veteran actor that has been around since the 1987 soap ‘As the World Turns’. He has been in a mix of high profile movies and television shows since, including ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Prison Break’, ‘Entourage’, ‘Empire’, ‘Crossing Lines’ and of course ‘Grace Under Fire’. The talented actor has also lent his voice talents to the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ and ‘Turok’ video game franchises. The cliffhanger with him going to Croatia could have been a clever way for the show to see if his commitments lined up. Thankfully he will be back, and everyone’s favorite couple will be at each other’s throats again.
Adam the stuntman was introduced as a character for Bonnie to be with in season 3, and is the first real relationship she has had since renewing her relationship with her ex-husband. Alvin’s sudden death in season 3 was a big shock to fans of the show, but was huge for opening up a relapse storyline with Bonnie. After playing around with fellow AA member and lawyer Steve, Bonnie finally found happiness with Adam. Yet the show is very good at doing grim, so even with Adam’s promotion, expect for a twist around the corner sooner rather than later.
How will Bonnie’s relationship with Adam end? Do you think they will eventually get married?
