Vicky Pattison seems to be the frontrunner for the gig since former host Laura Whitmore left for Strictly Come Dancing. The unusual choice is already being met with criticism, although it should be mentioned that she won the show last year. Familiarity with the show you are presenting is always a good thing, but in the case of Pattison she is a reality television star surrounded by other reality television stars. With word that the program was trying to get away with promoting that type of contestant on their show, having Pattison step into the presenting role seems counterproductive to that claim.
This would also explain why she left the Loose Women panel, a decision that was thought to be more on the producers side rather than voluntary. Understanding how much the show could boost her career, Pattison has always been vocal about replacing Whitmore. It’s just no one outside of ITV took her seriously with that claim! Unbeknownst to the general public, she was always the frontrunner for the job, so in many ways this is a shock to many people.
The show has already drafted a contract for her to sign, and if Pattison has no issues with what is in it, then she will officially become the new presenter of the show. All of this times perfectly with the announcement of the lineup for the new series, which is expected to be sometime soon. Pattison not too long ago claimed she had trouble dealing with the fame of being a celebrity, so hopefully that fear is all out of her system. The reality star is about to become part of one of the biggest reality shows in Britain, and one that is always burning up social media.
Is Pattison the right choice for the job? Who would have done a better job as presenter?
