How Did Dave Chappelle Do On ‘Saturday Night Live’?

You knew it was going to be one of the best episodes of the year, and he didn’t disappoint. Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live on the 12th and did a fantastic job, and became yet another host to turn this season of SNL into one of the best in years. With all of the anticipation coming into the show about there being a possibly controversy with his style of comedy, everything went on without a hitch.

The comedian opened with a monologue that leaned on the serious side, talking about the recent election results. In a very cool segment, he also talked politics, the current state of America and gave general encouragement about what’s to come next. With such a serious opening, what came next was some side splitting comedy with sketches that really showed SNL at its best.

Election Night saw both Chris Rock and Chappelle at a party waiting on the results, and giving commentary to their fellow peers who are crushed when the final tally comes in. It was a funny segment that saw two legendary comedians together for the first time in years. One of the fan favorite sketches for the night was The Walking Dead segment, which had Chappelle playing Negan and killing off several of his own characters. Tyrone Biggums was probably the funniest of the bit!

SNL is really proving to be the best sketch comedy show on television, with material that is fresher than it’s ever been. If you have been on the fence about watching the show again, now is the time to jump back into the fold. Saturday Night Live is back and better than ever, and can only go up from here!

Is this the best season of the show in the last decade? What was your favorite skit for the night?
