ITV have confirmed that the 'Home Fires' may be set to go out for good, because they will not be renewing the series for a third season. The news has shocked not only fans of the show, but also the creator and producers. An online petition to reverse the decision has already managed to gather more than 13,500 signatures. Much of the uproar has centered around the fact that the show ended on a massive cliffhanger, largely because the creators were sure they would be back for another season! However, Simon block and Francis Hopkinson have offered a small amount of hope saying that they have been blown away by the outpouring of support and are looking at options to revive the series in another form. On the downside, that means that they are not ready to reveal what happened after the plane crash just yet! P.S. US release date of s2 is still TBD.
