Criminal Minds Season 13? Fate still up in the air

Release Date of #CriminalMinds S13: To be announced

Police procedural crime drama Criminal Minds is currently in the midst of its 12th season on CBS. The show is set mainly at the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) based in Quantico, Virginia. It chronicles the work of a group of FBI criminal profilers, who use behavioral profiling to try and catch various criminals, all while dealing with the effects of this difficult job on their personal lives. Unlike many other shows in the genre, rather than focusing on the crime itself, this show pays special attention to the criminal, known as the unknown subject or “unsub.”

The show’s ensemble cast has undergone several changes since its inception, and to date, it consists of Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, A. J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness. However, this will mark the final season for Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner, after being let go from the show following an on-air altercation with a producer. How do you feel about Gibson leaving the show, and how do you think the show will end the character’s story? Aisha Tyler’s Dr. Tara Lewis is being promoted from a recurring to a featured character moving forward, and Adam Rodriguez and Damon Gupton will be two new additions to the cast.

Some of the stories for episodes in the season so far are realizing they are dealing with a character from their past they try to catch a group of serial killers having escaped from prison, as well as JJ breaking down while attempting to catch a child abductor who likes to burn their victims alive.

#CriminalMinds has always been a ratings star for CBS, and while critical reviews were initially mixed, viewers loved it the whole time. Some critics have come around as well. In fact, the show’s popularity led to two spin-offs, #CM: Suspect Behavior and #CriminalMinds: Beyond Borders. The emphasis on the psychology of the criminals, while not entirely accurate, instantly separates the show from other procedural offerings on television, while creating addictive TV, similar to how an emphasis on sex crimes bolstered Law and Order: SVU. The strong ensemble cast has also earned praise.

At the moment, another season for CM has not been confirmed, but it would be a shock if it wasn’t. Even with a regular shuffle of central cast members, the show has always performed well, and the procedural nature of the series means that there will always be new material to draw from. Barring something shocking, we will likely be seeing plenty of #CM and its spin-off shows for years to come, something fans are sure to

be happy to hear.

If you can’t wait to get your CM fix, episodes are available for streaming on CBS’s website, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, and iTunes.

C’mon people, Plz don’t cancel Criminal Minds, it is by far one of the best shows on tv to date….There isn’t any other crime/drama show on tv that even compares to this show….the stars of this show make everything believable, and you feel every moment of the show and the agents and their feelings and thoughts make this show one of a kind in this category….While I love the new cast members, bringing back Thomas Gibson as SSA Aaron Hotchner, (Hotch), would bring back the shows versatility and entrigue, and the “family” feel of the show, and if you guys also brought back Shemar Moore, (Derek Morgan), also puts back the sexy, self-confident, muscle man of the team, and keeping Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster makes the show, and the “family” a force to be reckoned with… plz, keep us, (the Huge Fans), happy to watch and continue to be the biggest fans, and renew the show for season 13…..Signed, Number 1 fan, ….Lori Evitts-Hawks…

I have been watching CM since the very first episode aired way back when …. I cannot tell you how many times I have laughed, cried, and gotten angry over an episode of CM, but I must say that this season, Season 12, just didn’t feel the same without our “Chocolate Thunder” Shemar Moore or the ever so serious, but well meaning “Hotch” Thomas Gibson….
Now, we all understood why character SSA Morgan left the BAU, and it was great to see him in the Finale of Season 12, and I know that Shemar Moore is busy doing the S.W.A.T series, but I think the network REALLY needs to let bygones be bygones and bring back Thomas Gibson. Many times on Criminal Minds they refer to themselves as “a Family” so the Network needs to get their head out of their ass quit dickin’ around and return the head of family where he belongs and put the Family back together the show is just not the same without Gibson… PERIOD!!!
And I have another question, not that I don’t love her to death or anything, but WHY in the world was SSA Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) written in for the role for SSA Hotchner’s (Thomas Gibson) job?? I would think that with his education, knowledge, plus his 20yrs under his belt the first time at the BAU added to his 5yrs now as an experienced profiler SSA David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) would have been a better fit for that role?!?! … Am I the only one that thinks that way??
I REALLY hope Thomas Gibson comes back on a full time basis and Shemar Moore comes back at least for the opening 2 episodes of Season 13 and periodically for special episodes like maybe if Garcia finally gets married??? 🙂 🙂
